THE MAKING OF LONE RANGING ROMANCE -
A Durational three-year performance: 2005-2008
When we first got the idea for the project we were interested in how vintage objects are presented in modern times. The objects create an atmosphere for discussions, a start point where the sharing of information can take place. The Volvo Amazon, a painting of a sunset and a stuffed moose head have become the objects and clichés we choose to explore this with.

Storyline:
GilbertandGrape and their lone ranger (20 kilo stuffed moose head) travel the coasts of England and Norway in a Volvo Amazon to search out and collect stories from people we meet. We investigate and document stories on Nostalgia. Lone Ranging Romance will end when GilbertandGrape return the lone ranger to the sunset in Nordkapp (elg I solnedgang) where the midnight sun never sets, exploring clichés and cultural heritage and iconography in the context of our times.

CHAPTER ONE 2005
We are on the road!
01 august 2005 we headed out onto the road. Starting from Møre and Romsdal county. We made longer visists to Volda, Ørsta ,Åmdalen, Follestadalen, Rjånes. Eikesund, Folkestad, Ålesund and Bergen.
The ground work has been made thanks to so many brilliant people we have met. We would like to thank them for their generousity in the interviews and for rejuvinating and motivating us to keep on with this stubborn project!
At the moment we are in Stavanger, Rogaland we stay here to do a performance at the 21m2 gallery and then we are off again, the main part of lone ranging is over for this year. We are going further south to do the performance BY THE WAY at scheduled festivals Ringnes, Atelier Nord, UKS Oslo, Kunstbanken. The autumn will be put off to further research, gathering of material

CHAPTER TWO 2006
The start of the year and the first months will be used to set up interviews and preparing our next tour. We hope to be able to attend Norwegian Volvo Amazon meeting in Norway in June and make a tour in Rogaland. We are also doing a small tour in England in the spring. In autumn we aim to make a test drive-in and show our first gathered material of film so far.

CHAPTER THREE 2007
The tour begins in Norway in spring, driving further North from Trondheim to Tromsø, Bodø and finally to Finnmark. The moose will be returned to the sun that never sets setting. In autumn we aim to make a second test drive in and show gathered material. The winter is once again put off to editing.

THE SHOWING OF LONE RANGING 2008
We aim to show the material collected from the three years of Lone Ranging Romance as a film in Stavanger at Tou Scene at an arranged DRIVE-IN. By arranging this we hope to be able to invite the people and cars partaking in the film. To meet once again as the sun never keeps setting.
