GLUE

Finnish artists Maija Hirvanen and Leena Kela have formed a collaboration named Glue. Glue has worked (s.2002) around popular culture phenomena such as super heroes and rock/pop lyrics. The works have emerged in public areas/arenas such as rock’n roll- and city festivals, public parks and city centres. The project has taken forms in live art, interactive public art and video. Both artists are based in Finland and have presented their work mainly in Eastern Europe, Berlin, Uk and Finland

“we have been concerned by the ideas of culture/nature.
Our personal/communal/cultural underlying identities within the myths of the Finnish country-side and world-wise ‘marginal’ mental and geographical location in the edge of Europe have shaped the choices of ideas in making the work”.
